[Transcript: Arizona Association of the Deaf, Inc had already written a letter to Governor Ducey last month, dated September 17, 2018. The letter contains our expressed concerns regarding Dr. Syms and requested that he be immediately removed from the Board. We had sent that letter to Governor as a courtesy. For a month now, we haven’t heard anything from the Governor or anyone from his office. It seems that Governor Ducey had been ignoring our letter and request. That prompted us to write a 2nd Open Letter to Governor Ducey, and the Open Letter means that anyone has an access to it and that anyone can read it. Please feel free to share the letter with anyone. The 2nd letter has a strong emphasis on Dr. Syms’ actions as a leader his ethical practices, and his judgment as a leader on ASDB Board. Deaf Education community, Deaf Education leaders, ASDB Alumni, ASDB Professionals, Parents, and families stand behind AZAD in not recognizing Dr. Syms as a leader of ASDB Board, and that he isn’t fit for this role in serving the needs of Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Deaf-Blind and Visually challenging children of Arizona State. That 2nd letter strongly emphasized that and our action alone in sending the letter to the office of Governor cannot be done, we need all of your support as a community in sending a letter to the office of Governor as well. There are samples provided below as you can choose from and send it yourselves as concerned individuals of the Arizona State to the office of Governor. We hope that there are interested media involved and would express interests in sharing our story to the public. We will continue to spread this to the public, and ensure that we push Governor Ducey to take actions instead of neglecting to do his duty as a governor of the State. Thank you all for your continued and diligent support in this matter. ]
